My No.1 Rule - Focus on movements:
Performing the exercise correctly. Making sure I am able to be in control of my body and the weight.
I’m not saying you shouldn’t challenge yourself and go heavier and harder. Yes, there are times for that, and depending on individual goals. If you still struggle with your form for certain exercises, then you should practice at a lighter weight before upping the weights.
I don’t go into the gym and think “imma kill myself today”. I go in to practice and train, getting better at specific movements.
I make sure that I still feel good after the workout (not beaten up every session), so I’m able to continue the rest of my day smoothly ☺️
