This is where I fell in love again with tropical forests, kaoluang Nakornsrithammarat. For 3 days and nights we lived and breathed this ecosystem, drank from the streams and slept from the trees. To me…this is how life should be.

60 years ago, forest coverage accounted for 50% of the land in Thailand. Later, it dropped to 25-30%, which prompted the government to announce the forest reclamation policy to raise the forest coverage back to 40%…
20 years after implementation the forest coverage remains the same.

Illegal logging is one of the greatest threats facing Thailand's forest, followed by land development for tourism and real estate, agricultural clearing, hydroelectric projects, and forest fires, according to Mongabay.

Modern economy as we know it depends on the produce of rainforests from timber to fruit, nuts and medicine.

Is it not yet clear? We must save the ecosystems of forests and we might have a chance to get back to the balance where we can thrive as a species.
