To be an artist today is to walk the fine line between attention and erasure. Every gesture, every appearance, every image cast into the digital tide carries a double weight. At once fascination, and threat. Thus, to be idolised yet still insist on being human is, in itself, a quiet rebellion.

It is the same defiance that animates all artists who wrestle with the contradictions of visibility. Perhaps this is why @balenciaga becomes such a fitting arena for figures like @pp.kritt and @tbzuyeon. Here, in the charged space between spectacle and self, they stood captured just moments after #Balenciaga’s 54th Couture show, and #Demna’s Balenciaga swansong, for our September 2025 issue.
