‘In five years I want people to know me as the director who pulled off three hit films in a row.’
Not bad for someone who started out thrashing a guitar in a rock band, then zig-zagged into solo music and screen roles before stepping up with his debut The Stone: Phra Tae Khon Kea – a film that made waves at home and found its way onto international festival line-ups.
We got him talking about every chapter – music, acting, directing – and the challenge he’s now properly throwing himself into: telling stories that open up new space for Thai entertainment.
For our latest digital cover we shot him at @rec.bangkok, a sleek new spot on Witthayu Road where the glow and mood seemed to mirror all sides of @paearak – the cool, the serious and the bit that can’t stop grinning.
