For the past 20 years, I’ve mostly watched you cry over heartbreaks, stupid drama, or whatever ridiculous thing you managed to overthink that week. So seeing you cry because you were truly happy… completely destroyed me.

Life hasn’t always been kind to you. That’s why seeing you this happy meant so much to me.

We’ve been friends since we were 10. Your mom asked me why we’ve stayed friends for so long. I laughed and said, “I have no idea ka mama.” She laughed too.
