I am writing to urgent request your institutional intervention regarding the recent, severe animal cruelty incident involving the dog known as Wang Wang in Jieyang, Guangdong Province, China.As a supporter of animal welfare, I am deeply concerned by the lack of legal recourse for this act due to the absence of a national animal protection law in mainland China. While local volunteers have shown incredible bravery, they lack the legal framework to ensure justice and prevent future atrocities.I urge your organization to use its global platform to:Publicly Condemn this act to keep the international spotlight on the case and counter local digital censorship.Apply Economic Pressure by auditing or calling out international supply chains tied to manufacturing hubs like Jieyang that allow unchecked animal abuse.Escalate Diplomatic Dialogue with Chinese authorities to prioritize the passage of comprehensive anti-cruelty legislation.
