Dear Leroy,
I still don’t really know how to put this into words.
You were so much more than just a coach to me. Over the years, you became my mentor, one of my best friends, and the big brother I could always turn to.
You’ve been such a big part of my fitness journey and the person I’ve become today. From someone who didn’t even have the confidence to compete, you believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself. You pushed me to do things I never thought I was capable of.
But what you taught me went far beyond training.
You taught me about coaching, life, business, confidence, and especially how to stop caring so much about what other people think.
Over the past few years, you were always there for me. Whether I needed help with coaching, training, business, or was going through something in my personal life, I knew I could talk to you.
Our sessions were never just about training, handstand walks or muscle-ups. They were conversations, laughs, life lessons, advice, and sometimes just talking shit 🤭. I’ll miss all of it more than I can explain.
Tuesday was the last time I saw you, and I’m so grateful that we had such a meaningful conversation that day. You said “thank you for listening and being there for me” and I said “same here Leroy, appreciate you listening to my complaints all the time”. I just never imagined it would be our last.
Words can’t describe how it feels knowing I won’t get to see you again, train with you again, or just sit and talk with you again.
Thank you for believing in me. Thank you for everything you taught me. And thank you for always being there.
You’ll always be a huge part of my journey and I’ll carry so much of what you taught me with me.
Rest easy, Leroy. 🤍 @iamcoachleroy
And please say hi to Dad for me too :) 🤍
