Last night, Ote and I realized that we don’t need to fly abroad to see the world’s best performances.

We watched the magnificent Romeo & Juliet by the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus. Last night was even more special by the presence of Their Majesties the King and Queen.

Every year, our dear friend Rasina @rasina17 and her family devote themselves to bringing outstanding productions from around the world to Thailand. We come not only to support our friends, but also because every performance gives us a chance to pause, step away from our daily routines, and open our eyes to a wider world.

This festival is another sign that Bangkok is emerging as one of the world’s leading cultural capitals.

Over the next few weeks, many more world-class performances will be taking place at the Thailand Cultural Centre. Honestly, I don’t want anyone to miss them. Performances that we would normally have to travel thousands of miles to see are now only minutes away.

มีโอกาศได้ไปชม Romeo & Juliet โดย Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus และค่ำคืนนี้ยิ่งพิเศษขึ้นไปอีก เมื่อได้รับพระมหากรุณาธิคุณจากพระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัว และสมเด็จพระนางเจ้าฯ พระบรมราชินี ที่เสด็จพระราชดำเนินทอดพระเนตรการแสดง

ทุกปี (Rasina) เพื่อนรักของเราและครอบครัว ทุ่มเทนำสุดยอดการแสดงจากทั่วโลกมาให้คนไทยได้ชม เรามาที่นี่ไม่ใช่เพียงเพื่อสนับสนุนเพื่อน แต่เพราะทุกครั้งที่ได้ชม มันคือช่วงเวลาที่ทำให้เราได้หยุดพักจากชีวิตประจำวัน และเปิดโลกให้กว้างขึ้นอีกครั้ง

เทศกาลนี้เป็นอีกหนึ่งสัญญาณว่า กรุงเทพฯ กำลังก้าวขึ้นมาเป็นหนึ่งในเมืองหลวงทางวัฒนธรรมที่สำคัญของโลกครับ

ตลอดหลายสัปดาห์หลังจากนี้ ยังมีการแสดงระดับโลกอีกมากมายที่ศูนย์วัฒนธรรมแห่งประเทศไทย บอกตรงๆ ว่าไม่อยากให้ทุกคนพลาด เพราะปกติโชว์นี้เราต้องบินข้ามโลกเพื่อไปดู เเต่วันนี้อยู่ห่างจากเราเพียงไม่กี่นาที
