  • จากเหตุการณ์จริงในปี 1986 ช่วงสงครามกลางเมืองในกรุงเบรุต ประเทศเลบานอน นักการทูตชาวเกาหลีถูกจับไปเป็นตัวประกันอย่างไร้ร่องรอยกว่า 2 ปี ต่อมานักการทูต มินจุน (ฮาจองอู) ได้รับโทรศัพท์ที่พิสูจน์ว่าตัวประกันยังมีชีวิตอยู่ เขาจึงถูกส่งไปยังกรุงเบรุตเพื่อปฏิบัติภารกิจช่วยตัวประกันพร้อมกับเงินค่าไถ่ แต่ทว่าเขากลับประสบปัญหาทันทีที่เข้าสู่กรุงเบรุต โชคดีที่เขาได้รับความช่วยเหลือจาก พันซู (จูจีฮุน) คนขับแท็กซี่ท้องถิ่นที่ได้พบเจอกันโดยบังเอิญ แม้มินจุนจะยังไม่ไว้ใจตัวพันซู แต่พันธมิตรอันน่าเหลือเชื่อก็เกิดขึ้น เมื่อพวกเขาต้องร่วมเดินทางอย่างยากลำบาก ถนนที่พังยับเยิน และเต็มไปด้วยสงครามในกรุงเบรุต เพื่อพาตัวประกันที่เฝ้ารอผู้ช่วยเหลือมาอย่างยาวนานกลับบ้าน

  • Min-Joon (Ha Jung-Woo) works for the South Korea government as a diplomat. He doesn't have anything special in his background to make him stand out. He does have a lot determination. Min-Joon wants to be assigned to work in the United States, but it's hard for him. He volunteers to take on an unofficial operation to save a missing South Korean diplomat under the condition that he will get assigned to the United States afterwards. Min-Joon travels alone to Lebanon, which is in a civil war, for his unofficial operation. There, he meets Pan-Soo (Ju Ji-Hoon), who is a Korean taxi driver. Pan-Soo is good at speaking the Arabic language and knows the streets of Lebanon very well, but he is also a swindler. Can Min-Joon rescue the missing diplomat without any official support?
