ยาโกดา (น.ส. สตรอเบอร์รี่) เป็นพนักงานคิดเงินในซูเปอร์มาร์เก็ตแห่งหนึ่งที่เพิ่งเปิดตัว ยาโกดาถูกเพื่อนแคชเชียร์แย่งลูกค้าไปอย่างหน้าด้านๆ (ลูกค้าซึ่งมีสิทธิ์จะเป็นคู่เดทของเธอ!) จึงหงุดหงิดระบายอารมณ์ใส่หญิงชราที่เข้ามาหาซื้อสตรอเบอร์รี่ รุ่งขึ้นทหารนายหนึ่งบุกเข้ามาในร้าน แล้วจับทุกคนเป็นตัวประกัน เขาคือหลานชายผู้ต้องการแก้เผ็ดแทนคุณยายนั่นเอง

Renowned director, Emir Kusturica, produced this fast-paced farce, in which he also has a cameo part. Jagoda (whose name means strawberry), is a check-out clerk atan American style grocery store, celebrating its grand opening. When a brazen co-worker steals her customer, and potential date, Jagoda vents her frustration on an elderly lady searching for strawberries. The next day, a camouflage-clad war veteran bursts into the store and takes everyone hostage. He’s the grandson of the disappointed shopper, out to avenge her mistreatment. The situation escalates - to hilarious effect - as the police and a special commando unit arrive to liberate the captives. Writer/director, Milic, continually supplies neat details to particularize the absurdist premise: the police inspector and commando chief trade barbs on their country’s transition from strong-arm tactics to transparent negotiating techniques, and the constantly dieting Jagoda finds love with her captor, who turns out to be a chef and nutritionist. Powered by music from Nelle Karajlic, this screwball comedy captures lonliness, anger, rebellion, insanity, pulse and rhythm of the people in one particular Balkan countryin transition.
