Natacha is found in a catatonic state the morning after a party to celebrate her and her neighbors' victory in an acrimonious battle with the building's owner. Faced with this inexplicable and burdensome event, her parents turn to Jeremie, also a doctor and Natacha's ex-fiance, who has recently returned from years in Africa.

Jeremie stays to care for Natacha, and as he begins to piece together the events leading up to her collapse, he takes apart and re-examines the pieces of his past life with Natacha. From his grief, a new love is born and from his painstaking investigation into Natacha's fate, a community steeped in intolerance abd vindictiveness is revealed.
