วันที่ 26 เดือนตุลาคม ปี 1979 เป็นวันที่ประเทศตกอยู่ในความเสียขวัญกับข่าวการถูกลอบสังหารประธานาธิบดี พาร์คจูงฮี กวางโฮ (ลีแจยุง) เด็กชายอายุ 14 ที่ไม่ได้รู้สึกถึงความหวั่นวิตกของคนทั่วไป สิ่งที่เขาสนใจก็มีแต่การเล่นฟุตบอลกับเพื่อนๆ หรือไม่ก็ดูหนังสือโป๊ เขาอายที่มีแม่ที่ไม่โก้หรู และยังตกหลุมรัก ยูนซุก (ยุนจินโซ) สาวสวยที่มาพักอยู่ห้องติดกัน

วันหนึ่งกวางโฮได้รับจดหมายลูกโซ่ที่จ่าหน้าถึงตัวเขา เขารู้สึกกลัวและคิดว่าถ้าเขาไม่ส่งจดหมายต่อให้กับคนอีกเจ็ดคนเขาจะต้องโชคร้าย เขาจึงเขียนจดหมายส่งให้อีกเจ็ดคนที่เขาเลือก แต่ไม่มีใครสักคนที่จะเขียนกลับมาหาเขา

As his sexual awareness increases, Gwangho no longer likes the scent of his mother, who wears heavy make up as she sells cosmetics door to door. Eunsook, an assistant nurse who is the complete opposite of Gwangho's mother, becomes the object of all of Gwangho's attention and affection.

Absorbed in his thoughts, Gwangho is oblivious of the news of the president's death and the picture of the new president replacing the late president in his classroom. Gwangho receives a letter of luck and starts sending it to people around him. As those people start vanishing, Gwangho is racked with guilt, suspecting the letter of luck is the cause of their disappearance.
