Joni (Nicholas Saputra) is a 22 year old film delivery staff in Jakarta. In the entire filmmaking process from writing the script, funding, filming, editing, to the screening, he believes that film delivery is the hidden, but most important part.

Joni's promise is to keep these words, Sorry, please wait until the next reel comes, away from the screen. One day, the worst day in the history of film delivery comes and threatens to put a dent in his professional pride.

Joni's Promise is a comedy about an unlucky delivery day, and is a film about filming. On his way to deliver the film, Joni helps a pregnant woman deliver her child. He is caught on a film site and acts out a small role. After helping a woman with a robber, his film bag is robbed. A group of gangs chase him. A crazy artist attempts to burn the film.

While Joni tries to deliver the film on time, a wildly diverse audience is divided into 10 different types. Joni's love at first sight is among the audience. Can he deliver the film in time and fulfill his love at the same time?
