Night falls on Istanbul. We are in the kitchen of a very trendy, eccentric restaurant, called The 5th Floor, and indeed, the restaurant is on the fifth floor of the building. The owner, Yasemin Alkaya, is an actress and the guiding spirit of a unique theatrical group that she established.

Turkey is slowly recovering from a devastating earthquake, the economy is sluggish, there are very few films shot in the country, and film acting jobs are scarce. All she wants to do is to act and to maintain her theatrical group. In desperation, she establishes The 5th Floor, as one of the only ways to keep her world afloat.

We join her in the kitchen and observe her as chef, boss, friend, and businesswoman. She is a woman of prodigious energy, and uses it all in maintaining the varied facets of her life. The restaurant is alive and warm, filled with music the waiters dance, and like any restaurant, there will be serious problems in the kitchen with the chef, or a sauce, or the lack of ginger.
