Ayme Pigrenet (Michel Blanc) is a hard-working farmer who hires a marriage agency to help him find a wife.The agency advises him to head to Romania where he finds Elena, thus addressing the larger, darker reality of the continuing imbalance between the two Europes and its social consequences.
