Fiercely เป็นภาพยนตร์ที่น่าจะชุบชีวิตผู้อำนวยการสร้าง เบน (โรเบิร์ต เดอ นีโร) ให้ฟื้นตัวจากช่วงขาลง แต่ผู้กำกับติดยา เจเรมี (ไมเคิล วินคอตต์) กลับทะเลาะกับหัวหน้าค่ายภาพยนตร์หัวแข็ง ลู (แคเธอรีน คีเนอร์) ตามมาด้วยการทดลองฉายที่ล้มเหลวไม่เป็นท่า ดูท่าว่าการมี ฌอน เพนน์ (ฌอน เพนน์) เป็นดารานำ อาจจะไม่เพียงพอที่จะดันภาพยนตร์เรื่องนี้ให้เกิดเสียแล้ว

ขณะเดียวกัน ภรรยาเก่าของ เบน ที่ชื่อ เคลลี (โรบิน ไรต์ เพนน์) ก็ยังตัดสินใจไม่ถูกว่าจะรักหรือเกลียดเขาดี ส่วนลูกสาวของเขา โซอี (คริสเต็น สจ็วต) ก็ก้าวข้ามจากวัยเด็กไปเป็นวัยรุ่นในชั่วข้ามคืน จากที่ชอบเล่นตุ๊กตาบาร์บี เธอหันไปจีบเด็กหนุ่มๆ ด้วยดวงตาที่ทามาสคาราหนาเป็นปื้น

แค่นี้ยังไม่พอ นักเขียนบท สก็อตต์ (สแตนลีย์ ตุกชี) พยายามที่จะตกลงทำสัญญาธุรกิจกับ เบน พร้อมกับเขียนบทละครให้ภรรยาเก่าของ เบน อีกคนหนึ่ง ส่วนตัวแทนนักแสดง ดิก (จอห์น เทอร์ทูโร) ก็กลัวลูกค้าของตัวเองจนไม่กล้าบอกให้ บรูซ วิลลิส (บรูซ วิลลิส) โกนหนวดเคราเฟิ้มนั้นก่อนมากองถ่าย

"Fiercely" was supposed to be the movie that revived a fading Hollywood producer Ben (Robert De Niro), but drug-addicted director Jeremy (Michael Wincott) has clashed with uncompromising studio chief Lou (Catherine Keener) following a disastrous test screening. Now it appears Sean Penn's (Sean Penn) presence in the film might not be enough to make it a box-office hit.

Meanwhile, Ben's ex-wife Kelly (Robin Wright Penn) can't seem to decide if she loves him or hates him, and his teenage daughter, Zoe (Kristen Stewart), has gone from playing with Barbie dolls to flirting with boys in the blink of a heavily mascaraed eye.

As if that wasn't enough for one man to take in, screenwriter Scott (Stanley Tucci) is trying to broker a deal with Ben while simultaneously making a play for his another former wife, and nebbish agent Dick (John Turturro) is so terrified of his own clients that he can't even ask Bruce Willis (Bruce Willis) to shave his scraggly new beard for an upcoming role.

Somehow amidst all the madness, treachery, deceit, runaway egos, rampant commercialism, personal politics and atrocious behavior of America's dream-making machinery, Ben has to find a way not just to make it to Cannes with a finished film, but to cope.
