เมื่อจู่ๆ คุณแม่ (ลีซูอา) ก็บอกว่าจะออกไปตามหาคุณพ่อ จิน (คิมฮียอน) เด็กหญิงวัย 7 ขวบ และ บิน (คิมซองฮี) น้องสาวตัวน้อยของเธอ จำต้องไปอาศัยอยู่กับคุณป้าขี้เมา (คิมมีฮยัง) ตลอดช่วงหน้าร้อน ก่อนจากไป แม่ฝากกระปุกออมสินรูปลูกหมูไว้ และสัญญาว่าเมื่อเด็กๆ หยอดเหรียญเต็มเมื่อไร แม่จะกลับมา
เด็กหญิงตัวน้อยทั้ง 2 คนต้องปรับตัวไปใช้ชีวิตแบบที่ตนเองไม่คุ้นเคย นับวันรอ และพยายามทุกวิถีทางที่จะหาเหรียญมาหยอดกระปุกให้เต็ม แต่ทันทีที่กระปุกเต็ม และยังไร้วี่แววที่แม่จะกลับมา รวมทั้งป้าก็ไม่สามารถแบกรับการเลี้ยงดูเด็กๆ ได้อีกต่อไป จิน และ บิน จึงต้องย้ายไปอยู่กับคุณยาย (พักบุนเทก) ในชนบทอันห่างไกล
ในชนบทนั้นเอง เด็กหญิงตัวน้อยทั้ง 2 คนได้เรียนรู้ชีวิตอันเงียบสงบ เรียนรู้ที่จะอดทน และเรียนรู้ความผูกพันระหว่างกันและกัน ความมุ่งมั่น และการทำงานหนักของคุณยาย ทำให้ จิน รู้ว่าการดูแลน้องสาว คือหนทางที่จะช่วยเติมเต็มช่องว่างที่ขาดหายไปในหัวใจของเธอเอง
Jin (Kim Hee-Yeon), a feisty 7-year-old, lives with her mother (Lee Soo-Ah) and chubby little sister, Bin (Kim Seong-Hee), in a cramped apartment in Seoul City, South Korea. When their mother decides to go look for their estranged father, Jin and Bin are forced to stay with their alcoholic Big Aunt (Kim Mi-Hyang) in a small town for the summer.
The girls are given a piggy bank with a promise from their mother that she will return when it is full. What at first seems like an annoying departure becomes a dire situation for the girls when Big Aunt loses her house. After their mother fails to return, Jin and her sister are forced to move to a farm owned by their grandparents.
It is through this journey of abandonment that Jin comes to learn the importance of family bonds. Inspired by her grandmother's (Park Bun-Taek) determination and hard work, Jin learns that taking care of her sister is actually a way of filling the missing link in her heart

- The Clock - In the year of 1940, the song Gloomy Sunday was known as the suicide song as many suicides recorded were related to it. Listening to this song has led to a French lady committing suicide as well after the death of her boyfriend, a clock engineer at that time.
