สารับจิต ซิงห์ (รันดีป ฮูดา) ชาวนาผู้อาศัยอยู่ในรัฐปัญจาบ ประเทศอินเดีย ใกล้กับชายแดนอินเดียกับปากีสถาน ก้าวข้ามเส้นแบ่งประเทศไปเพราะความมึนเมา สารับจิตถูกทางปากีสถานตัดสินว่าเป็นสายลับจากประเทศอินเดียและต้องโทษประหารชีวิต ดัลบีร์ (ไอศวรรยา ราย บาห์จัน) พี่สาวของสารับจิตจึงต้องต่อสู้เพื่อเรียกร้องความยุติธรรมให้แก่น้องชายตัวเอง
Biopic of Sarabjit Singh (Randeep Hooda), a farmer residing at Bhikiwind, Punjab, near the Indo-Pak border, crossed the border after having a couple of drinks. However, he was mistaken to be an Indian spy and was sentenced to capital punishment. It will be narrated through the perspective of Singh's sister Dalbir Kaur (Aishwarya Rai).
