PAKARANG, the Thai word for coral, is NOTEP’s new six track EP and a 45 minute immersive live performance exploring the relationship between coral reefs, memory, sound, and the human body.

Blending live vocals, electronic production, field recordings, Thai traditional instruments, and immersive visuals, PAKARANG exists somewhere between a concert, installation, and collective meditation.

Through her hybrid DJ/live sets and audiovisual performances, she proposes journeys rooted in presence, culture, and connection. Her music explores parallels between coral reefs, oceans, and the human body, blending ambient textures and ethereal pop, and finds strength in the slow, resilient rhythms of the natural world.

Every rainy season, the Amazon spills into the jungle, flooding the forest up to 15 meters deep! Basically turning the rainforest into a giant natural swimming pool with fish, snakes, and who knows what else 👀

Parrots returning to Leticia city after a day deep in the Amazon rainforest. Carrying the sounds, chaos, and spirit of the jungle back to us. One even decided to bless me with a little poo poo for safe travels 🦜 @vistprojects @natgeo

NOTEP (Note Panayanggool), Thai music multi-hyphenate and environmentalist, is an artist who creates with artistic intention through her A/V performances and hybrid DJ sets.

On Earth Day this 2026, she released her latest single, “Radio,” and marked the first signal from her forthcoming EP, ‘PAKARANG,’ which translates to “coral” in Thai. The release of the ethereal pop track is both intentional and a statement, while the six-track project was born from the understanding that the most radical thing she could do was attune and not resist.

In this exclusive interview with Billboard Philippines, NOTEP talked about her latest single, filming its visual on the open ocean near Koh Tao Island, and her approach to creating art that confronts environmental and ecological realities.
