หลังจากที่นำประเด็นการกดขี่เพศหญิงมาถ่ายทอดในเรื่อง The Circle ครั้งนี้พานาฮีหันมาเสนอเรื่องของชนชั้นที่เป็นปัญหาสากล ชะตากรรมของฮุสเซนเป็นผลจากการที่เขามีสถานะต้อยต่ำในสังคม ในโลกที่มีแต่ความอยุติธรรมและการบูชาเงินนั่นเอง

Written by Abbas Kiarostami from a newspaper report, this cutting new film by Jafar Panahi is the deeply tragic story of Hussein, an overweight pizza deliveryman pushed beyond the boundaries of rational behavior. Panahi again uses a circular structure to tell his tale -- the story opens with the chronological end, as Hussein stands, gun to his head, prepared to shoot himself after being locked into the jewelry store he's attempting to rob. Panahi then quickly cuts to Hussein meeting his upbeat brother-in-law-to-be Ali; the two of them are soon refused entry into the same upscale jewelry store because of their appearances, setting an unfortunate chain of events into action. After dealing with the oppression of women in The Circle, Panahi, here, turns to the universal issue of class -- Hussein’s fate clearly results from his low place on the social ladder in a world of injustice and materiality.
