Nine-year-old Eugenia takes care of her junkie mother Florencia. The bright little girl keeps the household going, while Florencia remains an irresponsible and catatonic figure who’s no longer in speaking terms with her own middle-class mother. Pregnant again, of father unknown, Florencia finally is hired as a maid to her former best friend, a rich and spoiled housewife.

None of them can do anything by themselves. Together they might at least get a chance to dream about something. Kept and Dreamless has won the Best Opera Prima award at the Guadalajara Film Festival, Special Jury prize at the Toulouse Film Festival, the Best Film and Best Opera Prima awards at the 2005 Los Angeles Latino Film Festival.
