  • This candy colored mystery is replete with indelible characters, denizens of the aptly named cafe, A la Mort Subite (Sudden Death), located near the cemetery where young women are turning up murdered in a bizarre fashion. The graveyard's caretaker seems more interested in his garden than the bodies piling up around him, although he knows more than he's willing to divulge.

    Leading the investigation is Commissaire Leon, a cop with a penchant for knitting, who lives with his mother, and is surrounded by a team that includes a nosy dog, an incompetent aide, and a fashion-challenged, insubordinate secretary. On the fringes of this diverse group is Madame Edouard, a transvestite maid who takes care of the rooms above the cafe.

    While she is perhaps the most normal member of the community, her life is as much of a mystery as the whodunit the Commissaire labors to solve. Madame Edouard is a surprising confection underneath its plot and eye-popping hues, but it is a touching homage to human eccentricities.

  • The Clock - In the year of 1940, the song Gloomy Sunday was known as the suicide song as many suicides recorded were related to it. Listening to this song has led to a French lady committing suicide as well after the death of her boyfriend, a clock engineer at that time. Her soul was not at peace and it returned with the purpose of fulfilling the desires of other victims of depression. Cheata, a girl living with her father and stepmother after her biological mother, Chanda, left the family, is suffering from depression. Every day she suffers mental and physical abuses from her stepmother. Together with her longing for her true mother, this had led Cheata to slip deeper and deeper into depression. Holding on to her mother's photo and listening to her mother's lullaby every night does little to heal her heartache and depression.
