ในยุค 60 โจ ยาบุกิ (โทโมฮิสะ ยามาชิตะ) เป็นนักเลงข้างถนนอยู่ในย่านชนชั้นแรงงาน และแล้ว ดันเป ทันเงะ (เทรุยูกิ คางาวะ) อดีตนักมวยขี้เมาตกอับก็มองเห็นพรสวรรค์ในตัวของโจเข้า จึงชวนโจให้เดินเข้ามาสู่เส้นทางหมัดมวย ต่อมาโจทำผิด จนถูกส่งตัวเข้าสถานกักกันเยาวชน ที่นั่นเขาได้พบกับนักมวยมืออาชีพระดับแชมเปียน ริคิอิชิ (ยูสึเกะ อิเซยะ) และมีโอกาสได้ดวลฝีมือมวยกัน
หลังจากริคิอิชิได้รับการปล่อยตัวออกไป โจจึงสัญญาว่าจะเป็นนักมวยอาชีพเพื่อไปสู้กับริคิอิชิอีกครั้ง โจฝึกซ้อมอย่างหนักกับดันเป จนกลายเป็นนักมวยอาชีพอนาคตไกล และในที่สุด ก่อนที่ริคิอิชิจะได้ก้าวขึ้นดวลบนเวทีระดับโลก เขาต้องการพบกับโจอีกครั้ง ได้เวลาแล้วที่ผู้ชาย 2 คนนี้จะได้เผชิญหน้ากันบนสังเวียน
Set in the 1960's, Joe Yabuki (Tomohisa Yamashita) lives in a run low income area. There, alcoholic ex-boxer Danpei Tange (Teruyuki Kagawa) notices Joe Yabuki's talents as a boxer. But then, Joe gets into trouble and is sentenced into the youth detention center. In the youth detention center, Joe meets pro boxer Toru Rikiishi (Yusuke Iseya) who is a champion caliber boxer.
Joe gets special training from Danpei Tange. Joe quickly becomes an elite boxer, particularly with a good cross counter. Finally, Toru gets a chance at the world championship belt. Before that, Toru wants a match with Joe. The two men enter the ring ...

- The Clock - In the year of 1940, the song Gloomy Sunday was known as the suicide song as many suicides recorded were related to it. Listening to this song has led to a French lady committing suicide as well after the death of her boyfriend, a clock engineer at that time. Her soul was not at peace and it returned with the purpose of fulfilling the desires of other victims of depression. Cheata, a girl living with her father and stepmother after her biological mother, Chanda, left the family, is suffering from depression. Every day she suffers mental and physical abuses from her stepmother. Together with her longing for her true mother, this had led Cheata to slip deeper and deeper into depression.
