6 เดือนหลังจากเหตุการณ์สึนามิเมื่อปี 2004 ชานน์ (เอ็มมานูแอลล์ เบอารต์) และ พอล เบลล์เมอร์ (รูฟัส ซีเวลล์) ยังคงตามหาลูกชายที่หายตัวไปของพวกเขาในจังหวัดภูเก็ต ประเทศไทย ด้วยความช่วยเหลือจากหน่วยงานสังคมสงเคราะห์ ทำให้พวกเขาได้ชมวิดีโอที่ถ่ายทอดชะตาชีวิตอันโหดร้ายของเด็กกำพร้าชาวพม่าที่อาศัยอยู่ในป่า

ในวิดีโอนั้นเอง ชานน์ เชื่อว่าเธอได้เห็นลูกชายของเธอเดินผ่านกล้องไป โดยยังคงสวมเสื้อทีมฟุตบอลตัวเดียวกับที่เขาเคยสวมก่อนจะหายตัวไป พอล กังวลว่าภรรยาของเขากำลังหลอกตัวเอง แต่เขาก็ยอมพาเธอไปตามหาลูกชายด้วยกัน

ทั้งคู่ลักลอบเดินทางเข้าไปยังป่าพรมแดนไทย-พม่าที่ชุกชุมไปด้วยโจรร้าย ภายในป่าลึกที่ลี้ลับและโดดเดี่ยว พวกเขาต้องเผชิญหน้ากับความหวาดระแวงและการทรยศหักหลัง หรือการค้นหาลูกชายของพวกเขาครั้งนี้ จะพาพวกเขาไปสู่ชะตากรรมอื่นที่โหดร้ายยิ่งกว่าความตาย

Six months after the 2004 Southeast Asia tsunami, Jeanne (Emmanuelle Beart) and Paul Bellmer (Rufus Sewell), a couple still coming to terms with the disappearance of their son. Working with aid groups, they eventually view a video highlighting the plight of Burmese children. Jeanne is convinced she sees her son in the film, walking away from the camera and wearing the same soccer jersey he was last seen in.

While her husband is worried that she's losing her mind, he still agrees to take her to search for their son together. Introduced to a dangerous gang of human traffickers, they find themselves alone and stranded in the middle of a treacherous jungle, set upon by a band of feral children. Has their search for their son led them to a fate more horrific than death?
