  • เกาจิ้ง (โจวรุ่นฟา) อัจฉริยะผู้เป็นที่รู้จักกันดีในฐานะยอดนักพนัน ก่อนหน้าการประมือกับนักพนันชื่อดังชาวสิงคโปร์หนึ่งวัน เกาจิ้งดันไปติดกับดักที่ เฉินเตาจือ (หลิวเต๋อหัว หรือ แอนดี เลา) นักพนันฝีมือน้อยวางเอาไว้แกล้งเพื่อนชาวอินเดียโดยบังเอิญ อุบัติเหตุครั้งนั้นทำให้เกาจิ้งถูกกระแทกที่ศีรษะจนสูญเสียความทรงจำและมีพฤติกรรมถดถอยเหมือนเด็กๆ

    เตาจือไม่รู้ว่าคนแปลกหน้าผู้นี้คือใคร แต่ดูจากความหลงใหลในลูกกวาดของชายผู้นี้แล้วจึงเรียกเขาว่า ช็อกโกแลต ในตอนแรกเตาจือมักจะหมดความอดทนกับนิสัยเด็กน้อยของช็อกโกแลตจนตะคอกเขาไปหลายครั้ง ภายหลังสังเกตเห็นว่าชายผู้นี้มีพรสวรรค์ด้านการพนัน จึงขอใช้ประโยชน์จากความสามารถนั้นสักหน่อย แต่เมื่ออยู่กันไปนานวันเข้าเตาจือเกิดความรู้สึกห่วงใยช็อกโกแลต และอยากหาทางฟื้นความทรงจำให้เขา

  • Do San (the God of gamblers) is a legendary gambler helped by his supernatural abilities. He undertakes to help a friend pay a debt by beating his friend's advisory at the card table. Despite being assigned a bodyguard Do San has a freak accident which leaves him with partial memory loss and at a mental stage of a child. The small time hustler Knife, his side-kick and his girl friend, being responsible for the accident takes care of the retarded Do San.

    After some time they discover that he has not lost all of his powers and takes him on a round at the local gambling halls. After being chased by both Knife's loan-shark and enemies closer to the home of Do San, a final showdown at the card tables may take place.

  • The Clock - In the year of 1940, the song Gloomy Sunday was known as the suicide song as many suicides recorded were related to it. Listening to this song has led to a French lady committing suicide as well after the death of her boyfriend, a clock engineer at that time. Her soul was not at peace and it returned with the purpose of fulfilling the desires of other victims of depression. Cheata, a girl living with her father and stepmother after her biological mother, Chanda, left the family, is suffering from depression. Every day she suffers mental and physical abuses from her stepmother. Together with her longing for her true mother, this had led Cheata to slip deeper and deeper into depression. Holding on to her mother's photo and listening to her mother's lullaby every night does little to heal her heartache and depression.
