At the center of the tale are Simon (Joel Edgerton) and Pam (Danielle Cormack), a thirtysomething married couple drowning from the lack of intimacy in their nuptial relationship. Unfortunately, in lieu of trying to fix the situation, Simon leaps into the arms and bed of Katrien, a gorgeous cellist who is already married to Klaus (Thomas Kretschmann). Meanwhile, Klaus's buddy Keith teaches a course that involves instructing his male pupils on what it means to be a man.
