One day, a stranger called Boris (Nicolas Cazale) appears from nowhere. He's come to visit Philip (Alexis Loret), an old school friend. Except that Philip isn't there, he'll be there tomorrow, or the day after at the latest, no-one's sure.

Boris settles in so rapidly. He seems like part of the furniture and proves to be the perfect guest, providing entertaining distraction. Delighted, charmed, and manipulated without knowing it, everyone lets themselves be caught by his incredible powers of seduction.

Only Andre-Pierre (Pascal Elbe) is determined not to trust him. He doesn't like tanned, playboy kind of guys. Added to which, why hasn't Philip turned up yet? Everything feeds Andre-Pierre's worry, which certainly isn't helped by the heatwave that persists, burning bodies before melting minds.
