10 อันดับภาพยนตร์ยอดเยี่ยม เนชันแนล บอร์ดฯ ปี 2004

"Finding Neverland" ภาพยนตร์แนวแฟนตาซีเรื่องราวเกี่ยวกับ ปีเตอร์ แพน ของนักประพันธ์ เจ.เอ็ม.แบร์รี่ นำแสดงโดย จอห์นนี่ เด็ปป์ ได้รับเลือกให้เป็นภาพยนตร์ยอดเยี่ยม ปี 2004 จากสมาคมนักวิจารณ์แห่งชาติอเมริกา (National Board of Review หรือ NBR) ประเดิมเทศกาลรางวัลเป็นรายแรก แม้ว่าก่อนหน้านี้ Independent Spirit Awards จะมีการประกาศรายชื่อผู้เข้าชิงรางวัลไปก่อนหน้านี้แล้วก็ตาม

นักแสดงนำชายยอดเยี่ยม ได้แก่ "เจมี่ ฟ็อกซ์" จากบทบาทนักดนตรี เรย์ ชาร์ลส์ ในเรื่อง Ray ส่วนนักแสดงนำหญิงยอดเยี่ยม ได้แก่ แอนเน็ต เบนนิ่ง จากภาพยนตร์เรื่อง Being Julia ส่วนผู้กำกับภาพยนตร์ยอดเยี่ยม ได้แก่ "ไมเคิล มานน์" จาก Collateral

แม้ว่ารางวัล NBR จะเป็นรายแรกที่เปิดประตูสู่รางวัลอื่นๆ ก็ตาม แต่ก็ไม่มีผลต่อรางวัลออสการ์มากเท่าไร เพราะตั้งแต่ ค.ศ. 1994 มีเพียงเรื่อง Forrest Gump และ American Beauty เท่านั้นที่ได้รับเลือกให้เป็นภาพยนตร์ยอดเยี่ยมจาก NBR และได้รับรางวัลออสการ์

และในช่วงเวลา 10 ปีเช่นเดียวกันที่มีภาพยนตร์ 2 เรื่อง ได้แก่ Gods and Monsters และ Quills ที่ได้รับรางวัลภาพยนตร์ยอดเยี่ยมจาก NBR แต่ไม่ได้รับแม้การเสนอชื่อเข้าชิงรางวัลออสการ์

งานมอบรางวัลจะมีขึ้นในวันที่ 11 ม.ค. 2005 ที่นิวยอร์กซิตี้
